Finger Lakes is blessed with some of the best golf courses in New York State. If you’re thinking of playing more golf this year or even taking part in the sport for the first time, there are some great choices right on your doorstep.
Here’s a look at three of the best courses in and around the Finger Lakes that you should be looking to play in 2022.

Ravenwood Golf Course (Rochester)

Many locals believe that Ravenwood Golf Course has some of the trickiest greens in the country. Some say they mirror the great Augusta National Golf Course. So it might be a good idea to get some tips from the best players in the world when they take part in the US Masters in 2022. World number one Rahm is the +800 favorite in the latest golf bets for this event. The Spaniard’s putting has been excellent over the past 12 months.
It’s not just the blazing fast greens that make Ravenwood Golf Course so great, it’s a scenic course. It’s also a good place to practice your driving, as the fairways are quite wide, allowing for some room for error off the tee.
Ravenwood has an on-course GPS system that measures the distance of your shot. This is perfect if you like to record your lap and keep track of how far the ball has gone.

Oak Hill Country Club (Pittsford)

Oak Hill Country is a golf course that has hosted many major championships, so there is no doubt that it is one of the finest in the United States. He held the 2013 PGA Championship which was won by Jason Dufner, while the 2019 Senior PGA Championship was won here by Ken Tanigawa.

If you are lucky enough to play the East course, you will be able to see what the pros come up against when they show up on this site. It is intended to accommodate the 2023 PGA Championship so play it before the pros get here next year.

The East course was restored in 2020 but they were able to retain some of the great features of this golf course. Expect to be challenged and accept that you may have days when this course gets the better of you!

Reservoir Creek Golf (Naples)

Reservoir Creek is a course that welcomes all levels of golfers. You will find four different starts depending on the level you are playing. If you are very proficient, the blue tees will give you a course distance of 6,294 yards.
The course was opened in 2000 in Naples and due to its location it has a feeling of ties to it. Expect the wind to really pick up at times through the holes closest to the coast. The par 71 course is a great place to take the family as there are a range of other activities to enjoy at Reservoir Creek such as sailing, hiking and some great food hotspots.
Reservoir Creek is still maintained in fantastic condition by the owners and those who regularly play there. You will also be able to see fantastic views of the hills surrounding the 18 holes.
