Puerto Rico’s Best Golf Resort Just Got Better

Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Puerto Rico Golf and Beach Resort, Puerto Rico’s premier golf resort, unveiled a new golf leadership team for Rio Mar Country Club – along with a variety of new golf offerings and notable developments for 2022.

The Rio Mar Country Club has enlisted a new leadership team, including new PGA Chief Golf Professional and Director of Instruction, Brandon Roseth; Member Sales and Communications Manager, Wilmarie Montijo Polo; Membership Concierge, Jeysha Geliga; Golf Course Superintendent, Brigido Miguel; and the golf course’s assistant superintendent, Sean Wilt.

These new recruits join Seth Henrich, PGA General Manager, Country Club Operations.

The golf experience has been further enhanced for 2022 with a fleet of new 2022 Club Car golf carts, with Visage GPS, the property told the Caribbean Journal.

Other upcoming improvement projects include renovations to the irrigation system for the Ocean Course and River Course and updates to the club’s technology system.

Food and beverage offerings for golfers are also enhanced, with a new menu at Iguanas Cocina Puertorriqueña, which serves Puerto Rican flavors with golf course views.

New menu items include a selection of tapas-style starters for groups, including Mofongo & Kan-Kan, traditional mini plantain mofongos with garlic and molasses pork chop and Gambas al Barrilito, a side dish of garlic prawns with Barrilito rum and lemon sauce.

Rio Mar offers two championship golf courses, managed by Troon Golf, the leader in golf club management.

Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Mameyes River and El Yunque National Forest, these expansive 18-hole courses offer views from every tee.

The 6,716-yard Ocean Course, designed by award-winning golf course architects Tom and George Fazio, features a legendary 16th hole, considered one of the best in the Caribbean.

Nearby, the 6,945-yard River Course, designed by two-time senior champion Greg Norman, features open greens, wide fairways, light and shallow bunkers ideal for all levels of golf.

Guests can also practice their golf skills on the driving range with chip and putting areas or hone their skills with PGA Professional-led clinics and private lessons.

The 35,000 square foot clubhouse features new locker rooms, innovative food and beverage, and a sophisticated pro shop.
