Solano golf courses continue to provide outdoor pandemic respite

Solano County and surrounding areas offer golf courses in a variety of types and settings.

Golfers can enjoy a round near the oak-studded hills of Green Valley, the plains near Vacaville or the delta region of Rio Vista. Or they can take a short trip and play golf near Napa County wineries or in Yolo County’s rural Capay Valley.

Many courses closed in March 2020 following state and county orders put in place to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus that causes Covid-19, but were among the county’s first activities to get fire green to reopen with social distancing measures in place. They have since remained a mainstay of outdoor activities for many Solano County residents.
