Ibom Icon Hotel & Golf Resort has reopened parts of its facilities to the public after undergoing varying degrees of refurbishment while planning to embark on a major refurbishment exercise.
At first glance, returning guests will notice the changed carpets, cleaner walls, and newer ceilings. But what they may not see are the changes that have taken place above the ceiling and inside the walls.
Speaking to the press after an inspection tour of the property, the General Manager, Mr. Charles Muia, explained that the mini-refurbishment was necessary regardless of the meager resources available as the hotel always cares about comfort customers and will stop at nothing to achieve it. this.
“We are happy to have completed this phase of the mini-renovation in the bedroom area. It wasn’t the easiest thing to do, given the economy and the funds available. As you know, we are a five-star hotel, and this management aims to constantly raise the bar by providing and maintaining a world-class facility and premium service to our guests while serving the communities. We are happy that customers have been satisfied with our establishment before and that they will be even more so when they return.
Mr. Charles also mentioned that the hotel management is working hard to begin a major renovation of the property, which will extend to other areas of the hotel. He said: ‘In its 15 years of existence, this hotel has never undergone a major refurbishment, which has led to problems here and there in the establishment.
I won’t bore you with common practice. However, now that we are done with the soft renovation, we are working around the clock to begin a major renovation that will make the entire hotel look like new again, including giving the rooms a look, feel and more modern functions.
The journalists were taken to room 158 of the hotel, which looked different from other rooms in the hotel. The room was described as the mock room, a sample of what the other rooms will look like after the major renovation. From the new walls to the furniture, bed, lighting system, tile, carpet and bathroom, this bedroom beats current bedrooms in beauty, class and functionality.
The hotel management has invited members of the public to go see for themselves and take advantage of the variety of offerings at the Ibom Icon Hotel and Golf Resort.
Charles went on to list other management achievements including the restoration of the streetlights on the hotel’s front street and the restoration of the marina club and pier.
“When we arrived there were two really strategic things that we said we had to do. First, the marina pier was important because a place of this magnitude should provide people with transportation options for ease and experience.
With the work done so far at the Marina, we can say that the Ibom Icon Hotel & Golf Resort is accessible by Land, Air and Water. So whatever mode of transport you choose to use. Secondly, we also encountered the streetlights throughout outside the non-functional hotel door, which limited visibility at night.
For us, it was a security and customer experience issue, so we fixed them. Today, when you drive through our facilities, you feel safer while enjoying the great ambience created by these lights.”
