INDIAN WELLS, Ca. – Indian Wells Golf Resort – the world-class public golf, vacation, culinary and events destination located in the scenic Coachella Valley – announces Nicholas Leitner as its new Director of Agronomy.

“I am honored to be appointed Director of Agronomy at such an exceptional destination and look forward to working closely with the dedicated staff as we head into a busy fall and winter season,” says Leitner. “Indian Wells Golf Resort is beautifully situated in the Coachella Valley, and our ongoing quest is to ensure that the playing conditions and aesthetics of the course match the stunning views from throughout the property.”

“Nicholas has a proven track record of delivering high-caliber agronomic results here in the Coachella Valley, and we are thrilled to have him join our team,” said Sven Wiedenhaupt, General Manager of Indian Wells Golf Resort. “His leadership and commitment will be instrumental in ensuring that our customers continue to enjoy phenomenal course conditions at our two famous courses.”

Celebrating its 36th anniversary in 2022, the famous resort offers 36 exceptional holes of golf with The Celebrity and The Players layouts. The Celebrity, designed by architect Clive Clark and colloquially referred to as “Beauty,” features aesthetic aquatic features, colorful wildflowers, and narrow hallways that emphasize the shot.

The Players course designed by John Fought, or “The Beast”, is a longer, more open course with challenging bunkers and breathtaking views of the surrounding mountain ranges. Like The Celebrity, no roads or houses disturb the course, and each hole is designed to provide a sense of privacy and escape in the heart of the bustling Coachella Valley.
