Nova Scotia’s Digby Pines Golf Resort and Spa will remain open year-round

DIGBY, NS – The Digby Pines Golf Resort and Spa has opened its doors for the season and its doors will remain open for good.

In a press release, Glenn Squires, chairman of the Pines Property Group, said a multimillion-dollar renovation project will prepare the resort to offer year-round accommodations.

“Our guests will enjoy Digby Pines in all seasons for the first time in its 93-year history,” Squires said. “We are excited for the growth this will bring to the Pines and Digby area as a whole.”

The Digby Pines opened on April 29. The plan to open the Pines year-round is part of a $12 million renovation project that will unfold over the next 18 months.

Renovations will include winterizing the complex with a new heating and air conditioning system as well as renovating the roof and exterior of the pavilion.

Other projects completed or underway include the addition of a new patio to the restaurant, a new cafe and wine bar in the lobby, new carpeting and renovations to the 31 Pines chalets.

Squires noted that guests shouldn’t be affected by the ongoing renovations.

“We will ensure that our customers in 2022 are not impacted by our incremental renovations; in fact, they will benefit,” Squires said. “Our goal is to bring more visitors to Digby to enjoy the world-class experiences we have to offer: our genuine hospitality, vibrant cultures, breathtaking coastline, beautiful accommodations, magnificent golf course and our spa here at Digby Pines – and, of course, the best seafood in the world.”

Plans to renovate the Pines for year-round service were first announced in 2020, with a spring 2021 target date to begin year-round service, but opening has been delayed.

The Pines Ownership Group also noted the potential for a $100 million investment over the next five to seven years to create an investment property vacation village that the Pines would manage for individual owners.
