Seasonal Employment Alliance Announces Roger Warren, President of Kiawah Island Golf Resort, as Next Chairman of the Board

WASHINGTON, DC, USA, Sept. 2, 2022 / — The Seasonal Employment Alliance (SEA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Roger Warren, President of Kiawah Island Golf Resort, as the next President of the SEA Board of Directors. Warren succeeds Michael Wood, owner of Wood Entertainment of San Antonio, TX. Wood has served as President since the organization’s inception in 2017. Under Wood’s leadership, SEA has grown from a few hundred members to more than 2,500 members across all industry professions. SEA is now the largest and most active of the H-2B advocacy associations.

Roger Warren said, “I am honored to accept the position of President of the Seasonal Employment Alliance. Thanks to Michael Wood for his leadership over the past five years and his dedication to achieving an H-2B solution. During his five years as president, SEA has grown from a start-up to the preeminent H-2B association. As President, I will seek to build on the foundation laid by Michael. I believe, thanks in large part to the grassroots efforts of SEA, that we are closer than we have been in years to real and meaningful long-term cap relief. I look forward to expanding SEA’s membership, particularly in the hospitality industry, and further establishing SEA’s credibility with our Champions and allies on the Hill.

Michael Wood says, “It has been a tremendous honor to serve as President of SEA since its inception in 2017. SEA was founded to lead the relentless outreach from the grassroots of employers to their members of Congress. SEA has been successful and I am confident that under Roger’s leadership, SEA will continue to grow in membership and become an additional force on the Hill. Permanent ceiling relief will only be accomplished through the base. I can’t think of anyone better to pass the baton to than Roger.

Additionally, SEA welcomes two new members to its Board of Directors, Zach Crede and Debbie Powers. Zach Crede is Vice President of Crede Lawn Care of Charleston, WV. He currently serves on the board of the West Virginia Landscape and Nursery Association and the West Virginia Homebuilder’s Association. Debbie Powers is co-owner, with her husband Corky, of Powers Midway in Lumberton, North Carolina. Debbie is extremely active in North Carolina Republican politics. She currently sits on the board of the Outdoor Amusement Business Association. We are delighted to welcome Zach and Debbie to the Board and are honored that they have agreed to serve.

Libby Whitley, former President of MAS Labor, is leaving the Board of Directors to join the Advisory Committee. Libby was a founding board member and integral to the creation of SEA. Few in the industry understand the program, the players and its history better than Libby Whitley. We are extremely grateful for his service, not only to SEA, but to the industry as a whole. Despite her departure from the Board of Directors, she will continue to be an active participant in the organization.
